First made in 1982, the John Riddoch Cabernet Sauvignon was conceived as a flagship wine for the Wynns portfolio. It has become a definitive Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon, produced only in years when extraordinarily high quality grapes are available, using less than one percent of the top Cabernet grapes. The 2010 vintage is outstanding and set to become a benchmark for wines which come after it. It has a good depth of colour with vibrant purple hues. On the nose, layered and complex aromatics see cedary oak, dark fruited Cabernet aromas and brambly notes creating varietal distinction. The palate shows great depth & width of flavour, with ripe, silky tannins. Classic Cabernet cassis sits along side smoky, spicy oak and more complex notes of
violets, tobacco and dark chocolate.
