Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2014 tasting, the 2014 Nuits St Georges 1er Cru les St-Georges has a clean and pure bouquet; although at the moment, there appears to still be some new oak to be subsumed. But I like the sensuality of these aromatics that are more 2015 in style than 2014. The palate is medium-bodied with a fleshy opening: dark cherries, allspice, a pinch of white pepper and a slightly herbaceous, verbena tea-tinged finish that gently fans out. Quintessential, modern-day Chevillon really—superb.
Outstanding. Med intense aromas of cloves, nutmeg and mint. Gamey undernotes. Later on red cherry and redcurrant on the nose. Dry, med (+) acidity, med tannins, need to soften. Quiet intense bitter attack and still very closed on the palate. Long finish. I would give it another 8-10 years before opening~ vivino.com
