The 2013 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru les Perrières has a heightened sense of mineralité compared to Chevillon’s other crus, with wet cold stone scents infusing the bright red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a vitamin-like purity: orange zest, hints of marmalade, a slight savory note toward the long finish. This is a linear, "athletic" Nuits Saint Georges, that should flourish once in bottle.
This wine gave a very good to excellent showing. The bouquet opens with red fruits and spice notes that develop a darker, more brooding character with airing. The wines displays a translucent medium to dark ruby color. The medium plus bodied palate shows very good overall balance with sufficient tannin to give the wine structure and firmness on the medium length finish. This wine does appear to have the components to improve with additional bottle age.~
