A firm and silky Sociando with cocoa and berry aromas and flavors. Medium to full body. Pretty texture. Chewy finish. Needs time to soften but outstanding for the vintage. Drink now.
Soft for a wine that is often quite extracted, rich and very ageworthy, the 2013 is a much more friendly prospect for drinking at an early age – over the next 7-8 years. Deep ruby/purple with cassis and blueberry fruit, a hint of wet rocks, soft tannins and moderate body, this is not by any means a very concentrated wine, but it is well-made and pure without any astringent tannin or vegetal characteristics.
Fresh, with a mix of cherry and red currant fruit carried by some briar and savory notes on the relatively easy finish. This has lost a little depth since the barrel tasting. Drink now. 16,615 cases made.
Deep crimson. Vibrant, deep-flavoured but slightly dark chocolatey fruit. Pretty tough on the end. Not Sociando’s finest vintage. Jancis Robinson
An Haut-Medoc red with good concentration of dark fruit and savory herb flavors. The firm tannins are very well handled and the finish is fairly long. A well-crafted wine with potential to age at least 7 years. By jeannie cho lee 2015
